The first “Tea Party” since 1773 is now history, but let’s hope it’s just the beginning. Ralliers numbering around 250,000 filled cities all over the country, in towns big and small, to proclaim “we’ve had enough, DC! and we’re not gonna take it anymore!” People of all ages, from all walks of life; with their children and grandchildren in tow; stood shoulder to shoulder voicing the same concerns: we’re tired of big government, we’re tired of DC not listening to our wishes; we’re tired of Congress and the White House ignoring the Constitution and doing as they please.
I have to congratulate everyone in attendance. There was not one report of any disturbance, violence, fight, or confrontation (except one I will get into later). We showed respect to each other and even picked up after ourselves! How’s that for good behavior?
The Alamo had the biggest attendance. That is where William Travis drew his famous “line in the sand”; and where Glenn Beck proclaimed “Washington, we’re drawing a line in the sand too! So listen up!”
Now for a couple of memorable moments. First, that “confrontation.”
Norm. The dad in Chicago, who had his 2-year old in his arms. Confronted by that obnoxious and way-out-of-line woman from CNN. She can’t even call herself a reporter. Who after she didn’t get the answer she wanted from Norm, proclaimed: “these rallies are put on by Fox News, and they aren’t family viewing!” Hey, CNN, this is why your ratings are in the dumper! So listen up and take notice! Coincidentally, the woman’s e-mail is no longer available. Wonder why? Could it be public outrage?
And then there’s our fav lady Ms. Pelosi. The Small Whopper. You know, the Speaker of the House? She called all the ralliers “revolutionists, who are simply revolting.” And by the word “revolting,” she meant the adjective, not the verb. Hey Nancy! Better watch out, you could get voted out of office!
And then there’s the Big Whopper. Mr. Obama. His press secretary, when asked if he was aware of the rally outside his doorstep, said: “Mr. Obama has no knowledge of any of these rallies.” Really?? Which is it, Mr. Obama? Are you out of touch, have your head in the sand, or just pretty darned scared? Or is it all of the above?
And if all the above wasn’t enough, now our beloved Mrs. Homeland Security, Janet NaPLOTitano has labeled us all “right-wing extremists”! That’s right, all those granddads and grandmas, the soccer mom, the guy with the baby in his arms; all of us peaceful ralliers are on Ms. NaPLOTitano’s watch list. Pretty unbelievable, isn’t it? Well guess what, Janet? With all the other folks you named on your “watch list”, it probably numbers at about $150 million people!
I had the distinct privilege of being part of this History. I spoke at the rally in Toledo Ohio. I used my 1st Amendment right, to speak about our 2nd Amendment right. Hopefully, they’ll both still be there tomorrow.
But folks, this can’t be a one-day-deal. We gotta keep the momentum going. Visit this site “After the Tea Party” to see what you can do! Talk to friends and neighbors. People you know who were there, and who weren’t there. Remember:
“Government of the people, by the people, and for the people cannot perish from this earth!”
