"Taxed Enough Already," Hollywood Style

Hi, guys! I’m here to help you relive some old movies and songs. Now don’t think I’m a nut-job woman from Ohio who’s “off topic.” Please, give me a second and read on.

Nancy Pelosi. how many of you know that name? Two months ago, she called us revolutionists “simply revolting.” And she meant the adjective, not the verb. So a la The Beatles, we’re “gonna have a revolution, oh oh, ya know!”

First up. How many of you saw Cinderella Man, that great movie with Russell Crowe? Every day he went lookin’ for work during the depression. He stood in lines, hoping that a business would hire HIM for ONE DAY out of the HUNDREDS in line, so he could put food on his family’s table. Are we headed AGAIN after 70 years, for this same kind of situation? Millions are out of work. I’m makin’ up me own song now: “Waitin’ for the Stimulus to Work, oh oh, ya know.” Just how many jobs has this boondoggle created, anyhow? Swine odor in Iowa. Pelosi’s mole rat in CA. Studies of drinking habits of hookers in China. And HIV hookers in Thailand. And let’s not forget ACORN. Your taxpayer dollars hard at work.

The Cole Porter song, Night & Day. The Fed is printing money at record levels. Night & day! Heck, they printed $1.2 T in one day back in March! Does anyone know what $1T dollars is?? It’s a “1″ with 12 zeroes after it. It would take 95,000 years to count $1T using $1 dollar bills.

Apocalypse Now. I’m not a big fan of Marlon Brando personally, but he was a great actor. And that’s where we’re headed, folks. Apocalypse. Now. Not later. Stimulus. Omnibus. Bailouts. New credit card rules. Cap & trade. Help for troubled homeowners. Chrysler. Gm. and Terminator: Judgement Day. Do you want your hard-earned money to bail out the “Governator” and California? Pay for THEIR mistakes?

We have $11 T in debt now. Mr. Obama and Congress have spent more in 130 days than every president from George Washington to GW Bush. That’s not considering our Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security obligations. And much more to come. Let’s not forget healthcare reform. Maybe $2T more? You know DC. They’re just like contractors. Never come in on budget. So let’s say they come in OVER budget. Let’s give it a nice, round number like Tim Geithner says we can. May 50% over budget? $3T? Who knows.

Who knows one of the biggest movie grossers of all time? Titanic. The Kate Winslet and Leo DiCaprio one. We have our own version right here. The Sinking of the Titanic, USA. That’s where we’re headed, guys. We’ve hit an iceberg. The downfall of the biggest, most unsinkable ship in the history of the world. USS Titanic. If we don’t make some changes. Fast. But the theme song of that film was My Heart Will Go On. Ladies and gentlemen, the HEART of America is not Fox News. Or Rush. It’s certainly not MSNBC. It’s not Congress or Mr. Obama. The heart of America, folks is you, I and other grass-rooters rallying together. And together we will make sure that no matter what the heart of America will go on. We will still keep it beating!

Now one of my favorites. The Untouchables. With Kevin Costner and Sean Connery. It seems, my friends, these folks in DC think they are in the SEQUEL to this movie. That nothing can TOUCH them. Nothing can befall them! The White House now even has its own news network. Are we gonna let DC be “untouchable”? I don’t think so!

Let me draw your attention to the picture at the top of this page. The first three words say “We The People.” WE THE PEOPLE! That me, that’s you, that everyone else in this United States. We The People! This piece of paper belongs to us, and no one can take it away from us! But guys, please look at that piece of paper again. Because we might as well send it to Iran. Or Russia. Or China. Because frankly, THE FOLKS IN DC AREN’T USING IT ANYMORE! They’ve wadded it up, and thrown it in the trash like a piece of garbage! They ignored us; when we said “NO!” to the bailouts. They ignored us; when we said “NO!” to the Omnipork Bill. And they ignored us; when we said “NO!” to the Obama-Pelosi Theft Act of 2009. But Glenn Close, in Fatal Attraction, said to Michael Douglas: “I will NOT be IGNORED!” And neither will we, WE the People. Because us revolutionists, are simply revolting. The verb, not the adjective.

Location. Hollywood. Movie set. Jennifer Lopez, star. Threatened by a jerk of an ex-husband (no offense to any ex-husband readers here). She finally got her cajones, and said “ENOUGH!” She trained, and she took him out. He never knew what hit him. We’ve gotta get our cajones back, folks. Gotta learn to say “ENOUGH, DC!”

And last but not least. Network. Peter Finch, screaming out the window “I’m mad as hell and I’m not gonna take it anymore!”

So let’s send a clear message to DC. “Back off! You guys, work for us; remember!? We’re the ones who sign your paychecks, so start listenin’ to your bosses, or join the unemployment line. Cuz you’re gonna be fired!”

And I almost forgot. “Take that Constitution out of the trash can!”

Please join me and many other folks in DC on 9/12/09 for Tea Party at the Capitol!

Tea Parties, Rock on!

Memorial Day, or NOT

Folks, we should all be appalled. Memorial Day, or Decoration Day, as it used to be called; has become a casualty. It’s true meaning and reason for being has become lost over the years.

Memorial Day was proclaimed on May 5, 1868, by Gen. John Logan, National Commander of the Grand Army of the Republic. It was first observed May 30, 1868, when flowers were placed on graves of both Union & Confederate soldiers in Arlington National Cemetery. In 1971, the Feds moved it to the last Monday of May, to give their employees a 3-day weekend. How nice.

When I was a kid, everything shut down on Memorial Day, as it should be. My dad always made sure he gassed up the car the day before, and Mom made sure there was milk in the house because everything was closed on Memorial Day. Now instead of honoring the hundreds of thousands of men and women who gave their lives for our freedom and liberty, we think of Memorial Day as a day to sleep in, to have a picnic, or get an extra 20% off at the mall. I’ve seen probably only two other homes in my neighborhood fly our flag that day.

Appalling.

And what about parades? How many cities have parades anymore, and how many people attend? In 1915, Moina Michael wrote this little poem:

We cherish too, the Poppy Red
That grows on fields, where valor led.
It seems to signal to the skies
That blood of heroes never dies.

This little poem says it all, don’t you think? My friends, lets make a pact. We must never forget or take for granted the selfless sacrifice of our war heroes, dead and alive. Without them, we wouldn’t be able to “tweet.” I wouldn’t be using this computer to write a post. Folks wouldn’t be able to protest, like those who did at Notre Dame this weekend or during the Vietnam War. So please, guys; if you don’t have a flag, go buy one and hang it proudly. They aren’t that expensive. Protest by not going to the mall or doing any shopping. Visit a cemetery, even if you don’t have a loved one there who was in the service. And make sure you tell any veteran or armed services person that day:

“Thank you for your service to this country. Without you, this wouldn’t be the greatest nation in the world. I have my life, my liberty, and my happiness, because of you. I am most humbly honored to know you.”

ACORN

ACORN. Before the 2008 election, bet most of you thought “acorn” was the nut from the oak tree that squirrels hoarded for the winter, right? But as an organization, it is the “Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now.”

First, lets take a look at the facts about this organization. It’s mission statement is this: “We are a community-based organization that advocates for low-and moderate-income families by working on neighborhood safety, voter registration, health care, affordable housing, and other social issues.” ACORN states they provide these services and goals through “demonstration, negotiation, and lobbying for legislation and voter participation.”

ACORN has over 400,000 members and more than 850 neighborhood chapters in over 100 cities across the US, and also in Argentina, Canada, Mexico and Peru. ACORN was founded in 1970 by Wade Rathke and Gary Delgado.

Now, let’s look at what’s been happening the last seven months and why many think ACORN has its tentacles into many illegal practices.

ACORN hit the national spotlight in election year 2008 with allegations many of their employees turned in fraudulent voter registrations; with bogus names including the Dallas Cowboys starting line-up and Mickey Mouse. And ACORN also allegedly registered a 7 yr. old girl in Florida. In my home state of Ohio, video was seen of a man claiming ACORN bribed him with cigarettes to register 72 times to vote. Now I have to be fair, just because one registers 72, times; doesn’t mean one actually voted 72 times. Employees were also videoed as stating they were paid per registrant and had a mandated quota of at least 20 registrants per day.

Why are we hearing about this all over again now??

ACORN is in line to receive upwards of $8.5 billion from the Stimulus Package, and many across the nation are outraged. Nevada recently charged ACORN with 26 counts of voter registration fraud and 13 counts of illegally compensating canvassers. In Pennsylvania, seven Pittsburg-area ACORN employees were charged with falsifying voter registration forms. Six of them were accused of doing this to meet an illegal quota system.

One Minnesota congresswoman, Michele Bachmann, last Thursday tried to block access to ACORN’s federal housing funds, feeling that no organization indicted for a crime should be allowed access to those funds. She is quoted as saying: “ACORN, as you know, is no stranger to the spotlight. Yet no matter how many times prosecutors investigate and even indict ACORN and their employees, they emerge unblemished as far as the federal government is concerned from having access to federal tax dollars.” Bachman complained that House Democrats killed her amendment to block organizations indicted for voter fraud receiving federal housing money. Barney Frank was at first for it, now he is against it; and it has been “killed,” at least for now, but Bachmann vows to continue the fight in the weeks ahead.

One interesting revelation in all of this: the “financial nerve center” of ACORN is actually a company called “Citizens Consulting Inc”; run out of a funeral home in New Orleans. EVERY SINGLE DOLLAR this organization receives or brings in actually goes to this very small, tiny, building in New Orleans first. And the public is supposed to believe all ACORN’s 240-networked organizations are run from this itty bitty building? If you believe that, I’ve got a bridge in New York to sell you!

And that’s not all. It’s been found that ACORN is working in tandem with SEIU, the “Service Employees International Union.” This group was actually the one who bussed in all those “protesters” at the AIG big-wig homes a couple of months ago.

I predict we’ll be hearing about ACORN for a long time to come.

"After the Tea Parties"

Hey, guys: remember the great Tea Party on April 15? Almost one million strong! Letting DC know our feelings about their unrelenting “tax & spend”? Guys, we can’t let it stop there! Gotta keep the “momentum”, else they won’t take us seriously, right?

Well, Nancy Pelosi called us “revolutionists”, absolutely “revolting.” That’s right. And we’re gonna do it again, only bigger; in her own backyard. This time, in DC on Sept. 12. FreedomWorks.org has secured a rallying permit for the west side of the Capitol in DC for Sept. 12. This is gonna give all of us an opportunity to rally all together, in one spot! And we won’t be ignored!

One rally in different locations all over the country was great. But think how DC will feel if we do it all en masse!

You can tell FreedomWorks.org here you’re going to DC! Any bloggers, please agree to include this info in your blog, in their “Bloggers Coalition” by sending an e-mail to <912dc.org@gmail.com>.

Don’t forget your Tea Bags!!

And I’ve provided a link at the right for you also, under “9/12 DC march.”

"A Matter of National Security"

How many times, over the last 20 years, have we heard a presidential candidate ask: “Are you better off than you were four years ago?”

But what do the words “better off” mean, to the average person. Are you better off economically. Are you better off job-wise. Are you better off retirement-wise. But not since Sept. 11, 2001; would any candidate have thought to ask the question: “are you better off “security-wise”?

Whatever opinions you may have regarding Bush 43, no one can dispute this fact: since 9/11 he kept us safe. Whatever your opinions about Guantanamo Bay, whatever your opinions about “water-boarding”, whatever your opinions about the Patriot Act; no one can deny Bush 43 kept us safe! We have not had one terrorist attack in the US since 9/11!

With Mr. Obama in the White House, I have to admit; I am really, really afraid. Let’s consider what he’s done so far, to become “soft on terror.”

He’s announced the closure of Guantanamo Bay. He declined to prosecute the mastermind behind the USS Cole bombing. He’s closed all overseas CIA interrogation centers. And if that’s not enough, he has surrounded himself with folks in the Justice Dept. and with a US attorney general who are on record as opposing “enhanced” interrogation techniques in terror investigations. He’s granted Al Arabiya TV an interview. He’s talked on the telephone with Fatah Party Leader and Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas.

And now Mr. Obama wants to prosecute the advisors to Bush 43 who “advised” Mr. Bush on the ways to Keep America Safe. It’s horrible, Mr. Obama says; to play rock music to terrorists. It’s horrible Mr. Obama says; to pour water on their faces. It’s horrible, Mr. Obama says; to keep the lights on all night.

It’s horrible, President Bush said; to not inject some “discomfort” into a terrorist, in order to secure the safety of perhaps 1,000′s of innocent American lives!

In the days after his inauguration; two countries who bowed to terrorists didn’t receive even a slap on the wrist from Mr. Obama. Yemen released 170 men it had arrested on suspicion of Al Qaida ties. And of course, Hamas. I’ll leave you guys with this thought:

When we all know, there are terrorists, in America; remember this:

Waterboarding, loud rock music, and bright lights made the terrorists spill the beans. Mr. Obama thinks all he has to do is talk to them and they’ll spill the beans. Which one do you want to be your first line of defense? Banking on Mr. Obama could take THE REST OF YOUR LIFE!

Be afraid. Be VERY afraid.

May we all rest in peace.
