Obama small biz chief hasn’t heard of Obamacare damaging businesses

Team Obama’s  ‘small business chief’ claims she hasn’t heard a single case of the Obamacare disaster damaging small business. Never mind report after report of the costs, tax hikes and devastation that come from its government takeover of our healthcare. Never mind the record uncertainty small business owners are feeling in the face of 4 more years of Obama’s economy. There’s really nothing to say except that the bureaucrats just don’t get it. Below are Karen Mill’s stunning remarks when questioned on “Morning Joe”:

You know, I travel all around the country, every week I go to a different part of the country. I’m with small businesses. And I’m not hearing that.

What planet is she living on? She must not count the voice of 350,000 small businesses in America as legitimate, but we already knew that. From Michael Tennant on New American:

ObamaCare’s employer mandate is supposed to guarantee that every working American is able to obtain health insurance through his employer. But according to the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB), an organization representing 350,000 small-business owners, the mandate may end up being the ruin of employer-sponsored health insurance and will almost certainly be detrimental to employers and employees alike.

Over a quarter of employers saying that they may drop their health insurance plans when Obamacare is fully implemented must not be damaging either. More from Tennant:

Low-wage employees, particularly those experiencing a large premium cost-share, have a powerful incentive to bolt an employer’s health plan for the newly established and heavily subsidized exchanges,” the NFIB reported last year. ‘Should employees begin to leave for an exchange, 26% of currently offering small employers are very likely to explore dropping their health insurance plans and another 31% are somewhat likely to do so.

Obamacare is piling unnecessary and difficult decisions on business owners who already face a still-stagnant economy.  Across the board uncertainty has reached such a record high, it almost makes Jimmy Carter look like a business-friendly president.  Matthew Rocco on Fox Business agrees:

Uncertainty about the direction of business conditions in six months reached 23% of respondents, easily surpassing a pre-recession record of 15% that was reported during the Jimmy Carter administration.

The small business optimism index is in recession territory and now we face (fiscal) cliff diving and Obamacare’s tax hikes. Something’s got to give.

Veterans erect new memorial war cross in Mojave Desert

In a fitting, but not perfect ending, veterans yesterday, on Veterans Day, erected a new war memorial cross in the Mojave Desert.

The original cross, which was erected in the 1930′s by Henry Sandoz has been under controversy since 2001, when the private land it sat on was taken over by the National Park Service.

This Cross controversy has been in the court system for over 10 years, SCOTUS Justice Kennedy intervened in 2006 ruling for a stay after Congressional legislation and the voters of San Diego made their feelings known positively after the ACLU filed suit on behalf of an atheist who was apparently “offended” by the cross.

The San Diego Attorney’s office claimed the cross would have to be removed if the 9th Circuit or SCOTUS didn’t intervene. In April of 2010 SCOTUS ruled the cross could stay after a land-swap deal to place the cross on private land was put into place but several days after the ruling a park ranger discovered the cross had been stolen.  The cross was found earlier this month tied to a fence post in the San Francisco Bay area and the San Mateo County sheriff’s office says the cross would be returned.

But veterans decided to start fresh and yesterday erected and dedicated a new cross with a ceremony with speeches and the Pledge of Allegiance.

What a wonderful event to have on Veterans Day. God Bless you one and all for your service to America.

Tea Party strikes back against union Romney/Ryan sign thieves

In the wee morning hours of November 2, four men in a truck owned by Sheet Metal Workers International, Union Local 33 were arrested in Perrysburg, Ohio which is just over the Maumee River from Toledo. Filled to the brim in the truck were stolen Romney/Ryan signs.

The North West Ohio Conservation Coalition (NWOCC), a group of Tea Parties and Liberty Groups of which I am a proud member, started seeing their Romney/Ryan signs disappear in Perrysburg and parts of Toledo. John McAvoy, President of the group reported:

This morning 4 men driving a pickup truck registered to the Sheet Metal Union, Local 33 were arrested and charged with receiving stolen property – in the form of a bed full of Romney/Ryan yard signs, some measuring as large as 4?x8?. Also in the truck were tools such as drills, which were possibly used to take the large signs down. The signs were allegedly removed from several private property and business locations across Lucas and Wood County.

Arrested were Corey Beaubian, Christopher Monaghan, Sean Bresler and John Russell.

So how does the Tea Party respond to their Romney/Ryan signs being stolen in the dead of night? Why, passing out replacement Romney/Ryan signs in the light of day right across the street from the “den of thieves’” union hall of course.

Since the union hall is in Rossford, Ohio just a few miles from me and where the miscreants were arrested, I went to assist with the new sign handout. And here is the sight I was greeted by:

What a beautiful site! You can see the union hall across the street in the upper right hand corner. Since that is private property we were told to pass out signs across the street, and many we did. Many who didn’t stop tooted their horns in support, even the police made a few passes and tooted at us as well. Below is a short video I took of the scene:

Since this made the national news and the major blogs it appears the union’s little plan backfired big time.

And who says the Tea Party is “dead”?
