Sierra Club to go *lawless* with Keystone protests

There have been many radical environmental groups protesting the Keystone XL Pipeline.

First we had the tree sitters, who called it quits after the pipeline was erected around them:

Then we had the “Tar Sands Action” group:

Code Pink showed their “support and solidarity” for those protesters who went on hunger strikes or were arrested:

But readers, *Save the date*. February 17 in D.C. For the first-time in its illustrious history, the Sierra Club is going to break the law to try and stop the Keystone pipeline.

With Nebraska Gov. Dave Heineman approving the pipeline’s route through his state Tuesday, Sierra Club President Michael Brune hopped onto Facebook to announce that the San Francisco-headquartered Club is “for the first time in our 120-year history….be engaging in peaceful civil disobedience to help stop the dirty and destructive Keystone XL tar sands pipeline. We’re all in!”

Below is their tweet announcing this:

This must be a really, really big deal because they actually went to their Board of Directors to get this approved:

“The recent decision made by the Board of Directors is not one we take lightly,” said Allison Chin, Sierra Club President. “As a nation, we are beginning to achieve significant success in the fight against climate disruption. But allowing the production, transport, export and burning of the dirtiest oil on Earth now would be a giant leap backwards in that progress. The Board is answering the urgency of this threat with our decision to engage, for one time, in civil disobedience.”

What that *civil disobedience* will actually be, well, they haven’t told us. Yet.

Back in July of 2011 NYC Mayor Mike Bloomberg announced he was donating $50 million out of his own pocket to help the Sierra Club *dump coal.* But this writer doubts Sierra Club separates their donations and Bloomie’s money will be helping to aid and abet this *civil disobedience.*

February 17 is a Sunday folks, so maybe some of us off work can catch the show and start a bet pool on how many will be arrested.

Code Pink demands US abandon Israel at White House rally

H/t Kenny Solomon at Israel Survival Updates.

Here they are at it again, Code Pink in their pink t-shirts demanding Obama abandon our one and only tried and true ally in the Middle East: Israel. FYI this rally took place several days before Obama’s speech where he threw Israel under the bus. So wondering if they had any influence…

Check our their repetitive chant:

Not one nickel, not one dime. We won’t pay for Israel’s crimes.

At least it rhymes.

Medea Benjamin and her crew failed to appear at the White House when Obama announced his foray into Libya yet they had a “shoe-in” to protest GWB’s foray into Iraq. Lot of hypocrisy going on here, Medea.

Even after Benjamin appeared on FoxNews complaining about Obama entering Libya, they still failed to appear at the White House.

I just love seeing the guys in those cute pink shirts.

You can read more of the story on Gateway Pundit. Be sure to read the comments. Priceless.

“Code Pink” still MIA at White House but condemns bombing on O’Reilly

Code pink women for peace

Hey, Medea. A couple days ago I called you out on twitter, asking why you weren’t showing at the White House for a protest. After all, you did protest GWB for the war in Iraq, video on my first article from 2 days ago.

Yesterday on your blog you announced a rally at the White House. What ever happened with that? I did give you the address. It’s been taken down. Guess it fizzled?

You did however CONDEMN the Libyan bombing on the O’Reilly factor tonight? Still the question begs, why MIA at A Casa Branca? I’ll give you the address again: 1600 Pensylvania Ave., Washington DC.

Code Pink’s hypocrisy: why aren’t you on the White House steps?

Code pink women for peace

Update 3/23/11. Obama orders the 26th Marine Expedition to deploy to Libya, after he vehemently said “no boots on the ground.” Code Pink???

Yep. In December of 2008 you held a “shoe rally” in DC with t-shirts with “Arrest Bush” on them for alleged war crimes in Iraq.

Now a liberal, president is in Libya doing the same thing as you claim GWB was doing. Why aren’t you on the White House steps now? You are on FoxNews voicing your objections. This tonight:

I tweeted at your group, asking why you have NOT assembled in DC like you did in protest of the Iraq war. I await your answer.
